In Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End the player will get to play both Dead Mans Chest and At Worlds End. Playable characters are Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swan and many of the other characters for a short while such as Barbosa or Mr Gibbs.

Ill start off with the character likeness. Many of the characters are exactly like they are in the films but a few such as Elizabeth and Captain Teague are not. The voices for most of the characters are done very well but everyone would rather the original cast contributed. Nobody would miss out on the comedy they got in the film from Jack Sparrow or the seriousness of Will turner.

The gameplay is the same that you get in games like LOTR and is a bit repetitive and you are limited to moves that you are able to do. Most of the time you will be running around using a sword to attack but side weapons are available such as grenades which are very fun to use if there is an enemy far away and the flintlock pistol is very fun as well and also throwing knives are awesome. There are times where you will have to use a different form of combat against bosses and this is called dueling. The dueling system is entertaining at first but can get a bit boring as its just the same stuff over again.

The graphics are different for the ps2 and ps3 version of course but the ps2 version is very different. Ps3 graphics are reasonable but could have been better because it saught of does look like that they were just crammed in.

The game does stick to the same story lines as in the films but not really events that happen during it. Of course there are the missions such as escaping from the prison at the the beginning of Dead Mans Chest and playing as William to grab the key of Davey Jones but the game lacks what really happened during the film.

This game is a very fun game but is not recommended for those who do not like repetitive games and delivers the experience that you would get in a movie type game. Overall 7/10

When an orphaned child genius named Lewis has his science fair project ruined by forces from the future he must join with a strange boy who claims to be from the future to steal his invention back, fix it and save a new found family from a bleak future where mind control devices enslave the masses

Lewis, a 12-year-old genius is a boy who has no luck in being adopted because of his constant ‘quest’ to find his birth mother. When he is struck by an idea after being turned down by a family (for the 126th-literally-time), he invents a memory scanner, a device which scans your cerebral cortex to project your memories onto a screen. Whe this project goes awry at a science fair (really the work of the evil “Bowler Hat Guy” and his robotic hat, “Doris”), Lewis is discouraged. Then, he gets a visit from a boy named Wilbur, who takes him on a wild ride to the future, where he meets Wilbur’s wacky family and gains the courage to “Keep Moving Forward.”

About 20 miles from Walt Disney World, just off the 27-HWY exists what must be one of the world’s largest Hidden Mickeys. Since this is in Florida, I imagine these are orange trees. But it’s hard to tell for sure.

Richard Roeper of the Chicago Sun-Times echoes Kitty-Chan’s article from yesterday on Disney’s new breed of tolerance in High School Musical 2 and the intolerant reaction from some on the right-wing side of politics. Here’s the money quote,

“As one parent and certified Disney-phile told me Monday, ‘As wholesome and family-friendly as these films are, both ‘High School Musical’ films promote tolerance, interracial dating and rejection of elitism — all ‘liberal’ themes that drive those religious right-wingers nuts.’”

Let’s start with the weekly cable ratings, in order of number of viewers.

    1. High School Musical 2 (Disney)

    2. Hannah Montana (Disney)

    3. High School Musical 2 (Disney)

    4. Hannah Montana (Disney)

    5. The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (Disney)

    6. High School Musical 2 (Disney)

    7. The Closer (TNT)

    8. High School Musical (Disney)

    9. The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (Disney)

    10. Hannah Montana (Disney)

Excepting that one TNT show, Disney ruled the roost last week. Good thing because the Network TV ratings for ABC have been abysmal this summer. Hannah Montana benefited the most from it’s position following HSM2, we’ll see if she can keep those numbers for the rest of the season.

Il Mulino New York Trattoria recently opened inside the Swan Resort at Walt Disney World. It replaced Palio, both restaurants offer fine italian fare. Scott Joseph, Orlando Sentinel Food Critic, took in a couple meals at Il Mulino and then traveled to New York to eat at the original for good measure. While finding the food good, Joseph found something lacking in the duplication.

Il Mulino New York-Orlando and Il Mulino New York-New York share some similarities in the food — the oil-rich bread, the salumi and an identical pasta fagioli — but there are so many differences that one wonders if there is a reason the two share a name other than to exploit it. It would be a little like opening a chain of concert auditoriums seating thousands under the name La Scala. They could present opera performances, and some of them might be good. But the experience just wouldn’t be the same.

The Orlando Sentinel has uncovered expansion plans for Universal Studios Orlando that includes two new hotels, new convention space, and about 300 apartments for their employees. Of course this raises questions about the employer/tenant relationship which always complicates things if an employee quits, is fired, or even works a second job. With low income housing in demand in Anaheim, might this be the future for Disneyland?

Oddly there is no word in this story about the impending move of Wet-n-Wild, which Universal owns, but will be forced to move when the lease on its current property runs out.

The local news station ‘Local 6′ recently ran an interesting piece on how close an eye Disney keeps on its online fan community. It focuses largely on Disney podcaster Ricky Brigante of ‘Inside The Magic’, but has clips from LaughingPlace.com and WDWMagic.com as well. Good stuff.

I spent the day at Comic-Con in beautiful downtown San Diego. It was an overwhelming experience. I walked by the likes of Lou Feragno and Stan Lee, and just missed Neil Gaiman, Kevin Smith and the cast of Heroes. In the geek world it doesn’t get any better.

The one thing that I did take catch was a panel of PIxar filmmakers, Ralph Eggelston (For the Birds), Andrew Jimenez (One Man Band), and Katherine Sarafian (Lifted) discussing the studio’s short films.

The big news was that they announced a new Pixar DVD to be released on November 6th. The Pixar Shorts: A Short History, will include 13 of their acclaimed shorts plus an exclusive documentary.

They screened the documentary for us, which covered the lifespan of Pixar, from it’s days at LucasFilm, through the hiring of John Lassetter and the selling of imaging software, to the studio we know and love today, stopping with the creation of a little movie called Toy Story.

    It was entertaining and insightful.

The Disney presence was felt on the convention floor as well, with a large Pirates exhibit, ABC Family previews and, well, stuff. Lots of stuff.

On Saturday there will be previews and panels for The Chronicles of Narnia- Prince Caspian, and Pixar’s next film, WALL*E.
